Delicious kurabiedes made with fresh butter, roasted almonds, sprinkled with cognac and rose water and powdered with icing sugar. It's so fluffy it melts in your mouth!
Of course, the famous Christmas sweet has its own story that takes us back to ... the 7th century! It appears to be from Persia or Lebanon and is a popular sweet not only in Greece but also in all the Balkans and Turkey.
Its name comes from the Albanian kurabie or gurabie. In Turkish it is kurabiye.
