The catacomb of St. John the Baptist
Urban legends, along with some researchers, has it that the catacomb of St. John the Baptist lead to one of the catacombs of the cathedral of St. Demetrius -possibly the spot where the patron saint of Thessaloniki was imprisoned. In fact, the evidence that is known about the temple at the junction of Makenzie King, Pavlou Mela and Iktinou Street, below the street, is scarce.
The old Roman-bath took its present form in 1990, when the old chapel was rebuilt. The courtyard of the (parish from 1984) temple reminds a park.
